Forgive me for sharing something from Fox News, but I have been saying this for a while: Bullies dont pick on people because theyre (were?) self-conscious and trying to cover up the holes in their hearts. They do it because they see you as inferior. You want your kids to be bully proof? Teach them to be excellent. Dont want your kids to be bullies? Teach them to appreciate what others have to offer. Stop patting people on the back just for existing. Teach kids that their value is determined by what they do, what they contribute and how they behave. If youre child is old enough to understand competition then they need to learn to win and lose with grace. Stop teaching them that It doesnt matter whether you win or lose, its how you play the game and start teaching them its how you play the game that determines whether you will win or lose.
