Forgive the monotony but my son needs more prayers. I have - TopicsExpress

Forgive the monotony but my son needs more prayers. I have personally spoken with Rhetts doctor as Sylvia and I have joint custody. He had a fungal infection that had to be surgically removed from his elbow. While the doctors say it isnt in his blood stream or organs, there are two spots on his spleen that have caused concern. They will be lessening his chemo treatments in order to treat this fungal infection and his cancer cells have raised back up to around 5% when the doctors would rather it be below 1%. I will do my best to keep you all updated with that I hear. Im doing the best I can to keep everyone posted with the little information Ive received in this entire ordeal. I, unfortunately, have been unable to see Rhett due to being on antibiotics. Though I feel fine, both my doctor AND Rhetts doctor say that I need to stay clear of Rhett until Im finished with the antibiotics. I hope to see him and my other children soon. I would like to make everyone aware of something particular here, especially if you are being treated for cancer or if anyone you know is. Though fungal infections are unavoidable in cancer patients, EVERY precaution you can think of (and research) should be taken to avoid one. Please see the link below from the CDC that gives brief precautions one should take. For example, one precaution listed says wear shoes, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt when doing outdoor activities such as gardening, yard work, or visiting wooded areas. Now, stop for a second and think logically about this because the CDC isnt required to think for you... expand your awareness by thinking of ALL the scenarios involving a garden, the yard, wooded areas and a cancer patient. Plain and simple, take precautions. It is not completely accurate for one to state that a fungal infection is unavoidable. A person walking a tight rope knows that they have no guarantee they wont die but they will take every precaution necessary to maintain balance and safety. The same principle applies here.
