Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.( Matthew 6: 12) We understand the concept of forgiving others, and that we should do it, but do we understand the true benefits of the practice? Harboring resentments, even hostilities,maybe hatred, towards others robs us of peace, but it also robs us of freedom, and its in freedom, in the liberty that is in Jesus, that the grace of God is able to work His complete work in us.Its best we know that when we make the choice to not forgive weve not hindered the grace of God working in us but brought it to a halt. Forgiveness is an act of faith, not a mental or emotional exercise, and is made possible for us by grace through faith. If were having issues with unforgiveness, openly and candidly confess it to Him, even if we have to say we dont feel like forigiving, but desire to have the ability.
