Forgiveness of sin What is sin? (GREEK: Hamartia) missing the mark; hence: (a) guilt, sin, (b) a fault, failure (in an ethical sense), sinful deed.In Merriam Webster Dictionary: 1. a: an offense against religious or moral law. B. b : an action that is or is felt to be highly reprehensible. c: an often serious shortcoming : FAULT2. a : transgression of the law of God b : a vitiated state of human nature in which the self is estranged from God Sin: to commit an offense or fault>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I like the way it is defined in the Merriam Webster dictionary. To commit an offense or fault. Hmmm…. Do you know that a lot of times we sin and don’t even take fault for our own actions? I’m guilty of it… I used to always say “IT WASN”T ME” or blame everything on everyone else, when in reality my actions are what caused things to happen in my life. James 3:2 says We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check. The bible says that for all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory Phillipians 3:12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.We will not be perfect until Jesus comes back for us (Philippians 1:6) being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. But we must continue follow Christ and seek first his kingdom and righteousness. Sure we will struggle and war in the flesh: (Struggling with Sin …14For we know that the Law is spiritual, but I am of flesh, sold into bondage to sin.15For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate. 16But if I do the very thing I do not want to do, I agree with the Law, confessing that the Law is good.) The Lord has been pressing in my spirit lately to know who I am in Christ… I was going over it with a few sisters the other day and God revealed to me something very important. You all may already know this but it was in that very moment that made so much sense… he said shod your feet into the ground …..(ephesians6:15) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;…When he said this right away I realized that when we shod our feet into the ground we stand in confidence of who we are in Christ and what he did for us on Calvary… He bore our sins and with a simple action of obedience our sins are washed away. Jesus died for our sins (1peter 2:24)He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. There is no condemnation in Christ 1Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death. Hebrews 8:12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more. Isaiah 23:35 I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Matthew 6:14 for if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. COME TO CHRIST
