Forgotten History: Christianity makes science possible. Science is based on Christian presuppositions: God is a rational being, God is distinct from and the creator of the universe [not pantheistic], therefore creation can be empirically investigated. Before Christianity, Aristotles deductive method [without empirical, inductive use of theories being tested by experiments] held sway. Francs Bacon introduced inductive, empirical research, even though he was held to be heretical by church authorities who still held Greek, Aristotelian views. Alfred North Whitehead, renowned philosopher of science said. faith in the possibility of science [leading to the development of] modern scientific theory is an unconscious derivative from medieval theology.
