Former BSF soldier shot at in Srinagar, critical Srinagar: A former Border Security Force soldier was injured critically after being shot at by unknown gunmen at Kaksarai area here in Srinagar city Thursday afternoon. A police official said that suspected militants opened fire from point blank range upon the former BSF personnel near government dental college Srinagar when he was purchasing medicine. The former soldier received two bullets in his neck and has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah of Maidan Poran Lolab Kupwara was immediately admitted in the SMHS Hospital for treatment where his condition is said to be critical. Nazir who after retiring from BSF some three months back had joined a private security wing as an officer, the official said. “He was posted as in-charge officer of the security wing at SMHS hospital”. Soon after the attack, government forces including Special Operation Group and Central Reserve Police Force cordoned off the whole area and launched massive hunt to nab the attackers. (GNS)
