Former Chief Justice of J&K High Court passes away : SRINAGAR, July 05 : Former Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice (Retd) Mufti Baha-ud-Din Farooqi died here this morning. He was 88 and breathed his last in a hospital. He was laid to rest at Khankhahi Mualla graveyard this afternoon. A number of social & religious organisatiions and lawyers have condoled the death of Justice Farooqi. Justice Farooqi served as the 12th Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and served from March 7, 1983 to August 23, 1983. He also served as Chairman of the People Basic Rights Commission (PBRC), an independent organisation dedicated to the purpose of actively investigating human rights violations ‘committed’ by Government forces in Kashmir, and seeking prosecution.
