Former Detroit City Council At-Large Candidate David Bullock finished in 3rd place with 39,032 at 17% of the vote in the 2013 City of Detroit General Election Cycle and has a great opportunity to fill the vacancy of Councilwoman Saunteel Jenkins (i) who finished 2nd place with 76,990 at 34% and Council President Brenda Jones who finished in 1st place at 34% in the At-Large seat. Sec. 3-105. City Elections and City Council Initiated Ballot Proposals. If a vacancy occurs on City Council it shall be filled by appointment, based on a two-thirds (2/3) vote of members. The person appointed shall serve until an elected member takes office. The election to fill the vacant position shall occur at the next general election to be held not sooner than one hundred eighty (180) days after occurrence of the vacancy.
