Former Labasa and Nadi goalie Ravinesh Narayan looks all set to represent Ba in this seasons OFC Champions League. The 36-year-old who was instrumental in New Zealand Fiji Football Inc (NZFFI) All Stars Pacific Cup victory in Sydney in an exclusive interview with FijiLive revealed his intention to represent the traditional giants of Fiji soccer. Speaking from Auckland, Narayan said following the Pacific Cup, talks developed between NZFFI and Ba FA officials and he was approached. I started my soccer career in Fiji with Labasa and it will be really special to play in my homeland once more. My home district is always close to my heart but whenever opportunity arises, Ill take it and will always give my best for whichever team I represent. I have been approached by Ba and would love to represent them in the OFC Champions League. I am working out on the schedule at the moment because it would be hard to leave work and spend three months in Fiji. If things work out then I should be there and training with the team from early March, he said. The Tuatua native who made his debut for the Babasiga Lions in 1996 and went on win the Fiji FACT IN 1997 and Battle Of Giants in 1999 before moving to Nadi said it will be a special moment for him to play top level competition with Ba. I would love to play in the OFC Champions League and if I do then this will be one of the biggest highlights of my career as age is catching up and I would love to end on a high note. I was in the Fiji U20 and Fiji U23 teams in 1998 and 1999 and in the national squad in 2001 but the Champions League is a different competition and it will be great to play against some of the best regional and international players. Narayan has played for South Auckland Rangers, Papatoetoe AFC, Mangere Utd and is currently representing South Auckland Rangers to maintain his fitness and form. His consistent performance between the sticks saw him walking away with the Golden Glove at the Pacific Cup. Apart for Narayan, former national skipper Simione Tamanisau is also rumored to be in talks with Ba FA about a possible move from Rewa for the OFC Champions League. The 2015 OFC Champions League will be played in Fiji in April with Suvas ANZ Stadium and Bas Govind Park sharing the group stage matches.
