Former Mayor Marion Barry dead at 78. A True Champion and Icon of Black Folks in Washington, DC.. He definitely served us well. He gave us hope when things looked bleak, He gave us jobs, He gave us avenues to revenues to support our families, He gave us the chance to succeed when the odds where against us, He gave pride to us black folks in DC who didnt know whether they were coming or going, He sacrificed his life to the end to see us move forward in this city and our individual lives . It has been a Honor and a Privilege to have been a lifelong resident of DC while under His watch, is an understatement. Your devotions, loyalty, accomplishments, gratitude, and legacy are truly appreciated and will always be remembered. Thanks for everything Mr. Barry.
