Former McMaid Employee is Running for Clean Water For Africa: Steve Spear worked in the customer service department at McMaid Northwest in Rolling Meadows, IL. in the late 80’s and early 90’s before becoming a full time staff member and West Chicago Campus Pastor at Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL. Steve was a “super” customer service rep and we hated to lose him, but we understood his passion for serving God was leading him elsewhere. Steve is now on a mission to provide clean water for 30,000 people in South Africa. He is running from LA to NY in an effort to raise $1.5 million for the World Vision water project; teamworldvision.org/runningforwater Because the daily duty for carrying water to their villages falls on the women and young girls in Africa thus preventing them from attending school and because McMaid primarily serves women, we had to get behind Steve in this effort.
