Former Nascar Whelen All American Series National Champion and Reigning Denny Hamlin Showdown Champion Both Take Home Wins At Caraway Speedway Advancing In the National Point Standings Caraway Speedway Asheboro, NC – For Immediate Release It was yet another exciting and action packed night of racing as the Nascar Whelen All American Series took to the track at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC Friday night, with twin 40 lap races for the Late Model Stock Division as the evenings feature event! The Legends division kicked things off for the night with Keven Wood parking his Wood Brothers Racing entry in Victory Lane after a dominating performance over runner up Ryan Millington. Jan Ingram and Brandon Mckenzie rounded out the field. Next on tap for the night was the first of the twin 40 lap races for the NWAAS Late Models. Stacy Puryear led the field to the green flag with Matt Bowling on the outside of the front row, after early cautions spelled trouble for Puryear and several other drivers, The race was left in the hands of Bowling, reigning Denny Hamlin Showdown Champion, who went on to win, follwed by Peyton Sellers. Myatt Snider, Travis Swaim, and Alex Yontz rounding out the top 5, with Dan Moore, Mike Darne, Mack Little, Justin Crider, and Chris Hudspeth as your top 10. The Limited Late Model Division took to the .455 mile oval and proved to be one of the most interesting races of the night. Dean Lowder Started on pole, alongside Carl Auman, but neither of them held on to the top spots, as a caution filled race shuffled the field several times over. The closing laps brought the fans to their feet with an intense battle for the lead between Ryan Shattuck, Ross BooBoo Dalton, and Andrew Grady in which the three traded paint for several consecutive laps, with Shattuck prevailing over Grady and Dalton as the winner. Jimmy Wallace, and Carl Auman finished out the top 5, with Johnathan Fleming, Jason Tutterow, Tyler Jordan, Amber Burchette, and William Gunter rounding out the top 10. The Second of the twin Late Model races saw Dan Moore starting on pole along side Alex Yontz. Moore maintained the lead early before falling victim to an accident and going to the rear of the field. This one turned into a fast paced run for the checkers that was won by Peyton Sellers, former NWAAS National Champion, who held off a hard charging Robert Tyler in the closing laps for the victory. The winner of the first twin Matt Bowling placed third, with Mike Darne and Alex Yontz as the top 5, followed by Myatt Snider, Mack Little, Nick Leitz, Chandler Levan, and Dan Moore rounding off the top 10. The Mini Stock Division saw Jason Tutterow start on pole and dominate on his way to a victory over Tyler McDonald. Daniel Yates, John Davis, And Johnny Baker were your top 5 The always exciting UCar Division put on an excellent show highlighted by a late race battle for the win between Sean Grant and Jimmy Cooper with Grant prevailing. Jimmy Crigger, Corey Rose, and Alex Whatley were the top 5. The final race of the night was for the Hornet Division, where Jeremy Kidd made a visit to Victory Lane, barely nosing out Tommy Raino to the checkers off of the final turn! The two ran side by side or nose to tail nearly all race long, and were followed closely by Zack Bralley and Justin Smith, Gary Dillard rounded out the top 5. Coming up Saturday Night will be Military Appreciation Night where all fans with a military ID will be admitted for $5 to the Grandstands or Trackside area. On tap will be the Late Model Trucks for twin races, Legends, U-Cars, Hornets and Wildcats. Grandstands open at 5pm and the race gets underway at 8pm.
