Former Niger Assembly Deputy Speaker Dumps PDP For APC The former deputy speaker and member representing Wushishi Constituency in Niger State House of Assembly, Hon Bashar Lokogoma, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) A source close to Hon. Lokogoma, who was the deputy speaker of the Niger State Assembly in the first term of Governor Babangida Aliyu from 2007 to 2011, is dumping PDP over irreconcilable differences between him and the PDP ahead of the 2015 general elections. He played major roles in all the major leadership changes in the House since 2007 to date and is one of the most respected, experienced and outspoken members in the assembly. Confirming this to LEADERSHIP Friday, the publicity secretary of the APC, Mr Jonathan Vatsa, said the former speaker has joined the party and has bought the nomination form for the state House of Assembly and will make a formal declaration at a later date. He stated that the lawmaker was one of the many PDP members who had already indicated interest to defect to the APC in the state because “they have seen the light and they know we are party that will bring change to the state.”
