Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali has revealed his shock at Roger de Sa s resignation and says he didnt see it coming. Jali, who joined Belgian Jupiler League side KV Oostende during the January transfer window, was speaking to Gagasi FM in Durban. Im quite taken the back with that move of him [Roger de Sa] resigning from the club and I did not think it was coming, Jali said. He was terrific. I have worked with so many coaches and he never changed much of how we used to play but with that being said, Im very much disappointed [that he resigned]. But at the end of the day, we have to respect the coachs feelings of ending his association with the club. He possibly felt the pressure after losing three key finals and I think he had a long think about that, as nothing but failure, but for me he was sublime and a very imbued figure in our football. We never go out there to lose, we were there to fight and win games. The 24-year-old, who started to train for the first time with his new employers on Friday, continued: We [the players] were there, sticking it out with his way about of football. We were going there to leave everything on the field, to win games, but luck was not our side. I wish [Roger] everything of the best in his future endeavours and I hope whatever he touches will turn to gold. He was brilliant at man management and he got the best out of me and the players as a whole, and Im thankful for what he did for me, especially as Im here in Belgium. I hope the club finds a suitable candidate who they can choose [to replace him]. And I hope they get someone who will challenge for trophies as it was the order of the season at the club. Jali concluded by thanking Orlando Pirates for the role the club played in his development. I will keep in touch in whatever circumstances avail up. The club is close to my heart and has done an unthinkable effort in my upbringing of football where they took me from an unknown quantity at Tuks to Mayfair, he added.
