Yet, no one in the House of Assembly has raised a question about this unconstitutional and unabashedly money-guzzling office and its occupant. I recollect that in July 1999, Alhaji (The Honorable) Ojutola Amao from Olorunsogo Constituency rose on the floor of the House to move a motion that Alhaja Saratu Adeola Adesina be curbed in her use of paraphernalia of office. She was fond, then, of moving about in convoys that blew siren even in GRAs at 11pm in the nite! We carried that motion but I know the kind of pressure I came under for allowing such rebellious motion in the House. The people who pressured me then are now the major stakeholders of APC in our state. Smh. Today, Dame Florence has moved the shenanigans of this illegal office higher. Rashidi Ladojas wife launched an Idera De Foundation. Lams wife did Health Is Wealth. Akalas wife was CLAP-ping throughout the tenure of her husband. Not that these predecessors of hers did not use official govt instruments in their illegal offices but Dame Florence is actually governing! None of the excesses of our First Ladies will stop until the people stop it. Yes, the people. And by the way, oga madam at the top, Dame Patience Jonathan should be stopped too.
