Former School Teacher Turned Elderly Home Care Provider A-1 Home Care succeeds in providing high quality senior home care service for our clients, because our professional elderly home caregivers serve out of loving care and compassion. One of our dedicated team members is Rowena de Ocampo, a former schoolteacher in the Philippines who has joined our Los Angeles senior caregiver team four years ago. Since joining our elderly care team, she has already been awarded with June 2013’s Caregiver of the Month. 24 hour homecare entails highly demanding work ethics, yet Rowena finds care at home for seniors very fulfilling. Although her passion has shifted to the elder care field, she fits right in because she is naturally very caring and compassionate. Rowena reflected, “Work not only for money, but do your work from deep inside your heart. Only when you work from your heart is when you will feel profoundly rewarded.” Rowena thrives in the 24 hour in home care setting, because she likes the social fulfillment of being surrounded by kind-hearted clients, like Bibiji, and their families. She genuinely enjoys their company, because spending time with them teaches her about other people’s diverse languages and heritage, such as European, Korean, and Indian cultures. As a natural lover of knowledge, Rowena also delights in sharing stories our elderly care service clients and learning about their rich life experiences. One of her fond memories as a 24 hour caregiver in Los Angeles is attending church services with a previous client in our 24 hour homecare. To be able to share such a spiritual experience while helping a senior care client with her wellbeing is truly a gift in her eyes. In her current Los Angeles care at home assignment, Rowena appreciates being considered by our client Ms. Puri as part of her own family.
