Former education minister Verity Firth is expected to make a comeback in her former seat of Balmain by running for community preselection against Leichhardt mayor Darcy Byrne. And Labor head office has made several approaches to former roads minister David Borger to run against Liberal MP Tony Issa for his old seat of Granville but been rebuffed.
