Forsaking Not The Assembly Myth Spiritual Maturity 2014 Some - TopicsExpress

Forsaking Not The Assembly Myth Spiritual Maturity 2014 Some Pastor/Leaders will try and condemn you for missing a church service or meeting quoting Hebrews 10:25. Let me reassure you that this is one of the most misquoted and miss-applied scriptures in the bible. Firstly in the full context this scripture is directed to unbelievers not those who are saved. We also have to examine what the assembly looks like today. And if we do you have to ask yourself, where is the genuine true love. So we enter the sanctuary and we half great each other and mutter small spiritual popular sayings and on the surface appear to really care about each other. Now we know that on the surface this appears real and might impress someone new but in actuality it is fake. If you don’t believe me then test it, talk to the leadership about going out and checking on those you have not seen in a while, you know the one that are not in leadership or the inner circle, the ones who don’t have a lot to put into the offering, the ones who may really be in need. If we were really concerned with the well being of one another we would show concern more than during the Sunday worship service. Think about that for a minute. You may have to develop a completely different set of real Christian friends that are in your circle who you know have your back. They will pray for you in earnest without you having to stand before the congregation, they sense from the gift of discernment when there is something wrong with you. They help you in meeting needs without even being asked and may whisper in your ear don’t tell anybody but God directed me to do this. They share with you expecting nothing in return. They don’t impose or over spiritualize everything but you know by their example they walk with God. They really care about furthering the Kingdome and not just supporting some other so call pastor/leader’s agenda. This is who I want to assembly with, these are my true Christian brothers and sisters. Now ask yourself one more question, did they miss you or did the miss your offering? So when they come in on you remember that this verse is directed at none believers and that if you miss a service here and there you are in good company because Jesus did too. The first half of Heb 10:25 along with verses 26 and 27 represent one of the most misquoted and misapplied passages of all Scripture that cult-like churches use to keep countless souls trapped in their grip. “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is…” Heb 10:25a The full passage reads: 25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching. 26For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:25-27
