Fort Belvoir’s leadership and staff are monitoring the weather forecasts for Fort Belvoir and the surrounding region. Current forecasts call for the development of potentially severe storms between this afternoon and Thursday afternoon. Weather updates will be provided as appropriate via e-mail; Fort Belvoir’s Facebook and Twitter feeds; Belvoir Online at belvoir.army.mil; and, recorded on the info hotline at (703) 805-3030. Information is also available on AM radio at AM1610 for those within five miles of the post. When necessary, information about weather impacts on Fort Belvoir operations is also provided to local area TV and radio stations. Should a weather emergency occur, your first rule of thumb if at all in doubt about your duty status is to ask your supervisor. Supervisors should double-check their internal alert-notification rosters now should it become necessary to activate them.
