Fort Dodge Police Saturday morning were dispatched to the 1000 block of Third Avenue South at about 10:21 Saturday morning to investigate the report of shots being fired. Witnesses said two vehicles were seen leaving the area shortly after the shot was heard. Officers responding to the scene checked the area but were unable to locate any evidence of a shot being fired or of the vehicles decribed by the witness. At about 10:55 Saturday morning, a call came to the Webster County Communications Center that a male subject had arrived at the Trinity Unity Point Emergency Room with a gunshot wound. The male subject was identified as 45 year old Edward Brown of Fort Dodge. Brown sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso causing non life threatening injuries. He was treated and released. According to the reporting witness, a small white 4 door sedan was seen in the area at the time of the incident and believed to be involved.
