Assigns nursing staff to patient care duties based on scope of practice, competency level and available personnel. Monitors and oversees nursing staff performance to assure work and nursing care is accomplished in a timely and safe manner. Provides advice, assistance, counsel and instruction to nursing personnel. Ensures appropriate patient education and documentation occurs during shift. Assesses the patients and/or familys learning needs and the patients and/or familys abilities and readiness to learn.
