Fortress headlining @ Jezebels back in 1988. This was my guitar solo that night. With Chris de Bateria coming in at the end for a drum solo. The 1969 Fender/Charvel Franken Strat Im playing in the video, is still one of my main rides to this day, and is the same guitar I played in the 1985 MTV video Everybodys Crazy, by Michael Bolton on CBS/Columbia. This was long before the 20-25 minute set BS came into play because clubs were putting 10-20 bands on the bill every night. Fans used to get to see a full show, with 1hr to 1.5hr sets, that included a guitar solo, drum solo, and other value added things bands used to do to give fans a real show for their money. Wheres the value in 10-20 bands playing 20 minute sets? There is more transition & changeover time than music with a show like that... We need to go back to 3-4 quality bands on the bill a night that play at least 45-60 minutes, and quit this 10-20 bands a night nonsense. Besides the 6-8 bands are typically pretty bad or unknown, and many times drive the crowd out before the headliners even hit the stage... The fans absolutely HATE sitting though 4-5 shitty bands waiting for the quality direct support bands & headliners to play. Fortress was: Ted Heath - vocals Kevin Reye - guitars/vocals Chris Turbis - keys/vocals Arthur Dominguez bass/vocals Chris Drumslut Silva - drums youtu.be/eR_CEWEArtI
