Forty days after the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Assyrian Church of the East celebrates the Holy day of the feast of the Lord’s Ascension (Eada D’Solaqa D’Maran), this year it falls today Thursday, May 29th, 2014. Holy Mass will be celebrated at Saint Andrew’s Church at 6:30pm. Also, as part of this Holy day, the Assyrian Culture celebrates this occasion traditionally, also referred and known as “Kalo Solaqa”, parents of young children are kindly asked to have their young girls wear their special white long dress resembling to a bride’s white dress and young boys to wear black suits and ties resembling groom. This in its totality brings in mind Christ as the Groom and Church as being the bride. The front rows in the Church will be reserved for these young men and women. Thanks and God bless
