Forty five years ago today, about this time of day, my mom and sister landed in Honolulu to meet up with my dad. My dad was on R&R from The Army and Vietnam War. My mom was going to Hawaii to marry my dad, how she must of felt being 24 years old & a single mom going with her baby girl over 3700 miles to get married. And my dad just 22 flying from the battlefield of the war with all the other young soldiers. Tomorrow we celebrate forty five years of marriage, Forty five years is a long time that has been filled with many many good times and bad times. But my mom and dad have stuck it out. Seeing pics of my parents in Waikiki from back then while I was growing up I would day dream about one day going to a far off place called Honolulu. So now when I am there I feel at home cuz thats where my family became a family. Here is an early Hau`oli la Hoomanao to my mom and dad.
