Forty-two years after the declaration of Martial Law and yet we - TopicsExpress

Forty-two years after the declaration of Martial Law and yet we still find the need to remember the repression of the fascist regime, and the courage and resistance of the people, which created a milestone in the long-history of people’s struggles. Forty two years have passed and yet the quest for genuine democracy and freedom continues as human rights violations remain to be perpetrated by the state in order to pacify political dissent, such as manifested by the cases of our fellow UP students Maricon Montajes, Gerald Salonga, Guiller Cadano, Karen Empeno, and Sherlyn Cadapan. For two years after, we still find ourselves defending our sovereignty and patrimony, and fighting for just social and economic reforms. Forty two years after, we shall not only remember, but shall reiterate the lessons of our history towards further discernment and action. Never Forget. Never Again to Dictatorship!
