Forty years ago today, a black man received something in the South that was once unheard of: a standing ovation. Hank Aaron broke Babe Ruths home run record, not only helping to change the game, but to change society as well, in helping to break barriers. He stood tall through death threats, fans cursing him, and the strain of chasing the record, and he came out on top with dignity and class. To me, Aaron not Barry Bonds, is the true MLB Home Run Champ. Bonds cheated his way to the top, and continues to lie about it to this day. Aaron never cheated.
