Forwaded....Dear faithful, RE: MOUNT KENYA PRAYERS WALK (27TH DECEMBER 2014) We are sending this write-up to notify you of Mount Kenya Prayers walk. Mount Kenya Prayers walks are held any day of the year depending on individual need but many regard the 27th December of every year as the most appropriate day. This date corresponds with the conclusion of the 40th day fasting of the Gikuyu holy men, who entreaty in the Mountain on behalf of the welfare of the people and the nation. They say Mount Kenya is the holy pillar of descending path. From the mountain the spiritual masters receive the blessings. Unlike before when there were no vehicles, today, Mount Kenya prayers walk takes a day to circumambulate the mountain making seven stop overs during prayers. The pilgrims circumambulate the mountain by driving in an anti-clockwise motion. In anti-clockwise the human nature is put under the influence of the law of omnipotent Ngai that commands the movement of all heavenly bodies in anti-clockwise motion. The result of the mountain prayers has been known to create spiritual transformation to the devotees. Such spiritual phenomenon is hard to explain how it operates or occurs because it works and manifests itself from a different platform beyond the understanding of our human mind. The devotees in the mountain prayers are spiritually captured by the influence of high land mass as they circumambulate the ring-like route. Further the prayers commence from the point of conclusion such that the first stop over is always the seventh or the last and final stop over. The prayers session starts primarily as an individual and personal soul searching process but keeps truck and remains focused along the route; soul searching process culminates in sublimity -total devotion to Ngai the creator of the universe. The sub-lime heart of the devotee levitates and enters the realm of Holy Spirit and the devotee body radiates in the glory of Ngai, experiencing indescribable joy not of this world “riri wa iguru”. In order to reach levitation level, three steps are strictly adhered to before one sets for the mountain prayers:- I. Fasting – stops or slows down metabolism to allow concentration of one’s prayers in search of Ngai. II. Renouncing of bodily pleasure – concentration of ones prayers in search of Ngai. III. Dedication – devotion to the worship of Ngai. Throughout the route, silent prayers are regarded as the path to Ngai’s glory. After the seventh stop over prayers, the devotee goes directly and silently straight to his home to transmit the share of mountain blessings to his house. On alighting from the vehicle, he first walks in prayers in his compound and finally enters all the rooms in his house in prayers. In case he had taken the Mountain prayers on behalf of an ailing one, or one in dire need of Ngai’s intervention let the devotee touch the victims head and say incantation prayer for the needy. The seven angels in reference to the seven stop overs take over from the devotee. You are all welcome in this year Mount Kenya prayers walk on 27th December 2014.You are expected to pray in your own way while observing the Mountain prayers rule i.e. say your prayers in all seven stop overs, while facing Mount Kenya as you circumambulate the Mountain in anti-clockwise motion.
