Foster Botanical Garden Plant Sale on Saturday! Many of your friends from the Oʻahu Nursery Growers Association (ONGA) will be participating in the annual Foster Botanical Garden Plant Sale tomorrow, Saturday, May 24th. It will be held at the Garden from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Admission is free and there will also be free Garden tours. The theme for this yearʻs show is Container Plants for the Lanai and Edible Plants. There will be a variety of Native Hawaiian plants including young hapuʻu (tree ferns) and palapalai; Polynesian introduced plants such as kale, ʻuala, and ko; 6 colors of Dancing Girl gingers, orchids, heliconia, bromeliads, cacti & succulents, livd spiraling, bamboo, terrariums, mounted tilandsias, ti, chocolate mint herb, soursop tree seedlings, jaboticaba and lansone fruit trees, anthuriums (30+ varieties from miniature to giant bake), and many unusual plants not found in garden shops. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Early Detection of Invasive Insects. The Spring Plant Sale is sponsored by Friends of Honolulu Botanical Gardens, the City and County of Honolulu, and ONGA.
