Foulridge Distraction Burglary… Occurred yesterday (14th) at around 3pm. A 95 year old female was targeted. The offender knocked on the door and said he had come to check her plug sockets. He showed her NO credentials or ID. He has then roamed around her home and stolen her purse. He is described as a white male, in his 30’s, wearing a blue type uniform with a badge of some sort on it. There is a possibility he is linked to a white van (no other details known) but it is not confirmed. The address targeted is an obvious elderly persons house… these people are ruthless, they have no morals and will prey on the elderly and vulnerable. These victims are not on FB or ITK, they are trusting and take people at their word. It is mine and yours responsibility to look out for these likely victims… your neighbour…your Gran, Mum, Dad…. Please educate them about answering the door and letting people in… tell them NOT TO. If a tradesman or utility person calls, they should already know they are coming… check their ID. Tell them NOT to answer the door to cold callers…take a minute to read the advice in the attached link. Sgt De Curtis
