Found gray and white cat in Mifflin Twp - male, neutered, and - TopicsExpress

Found gray and white cat in Mifflin Twp - male, neutered, and declawed. He has obviously been missing for a while. He is severely emaciated, and he had his right front leg completely through his collar so that his collar was around his neck and under his right shoulder. He was found early Monday morning, Sept 29th, and has been at the vet clinic I use since then being treated for a severe infection from the collar. He will be going under anesthesia Wednesday morning to clean the wounds, remove dead tissue, and repair abraded tissue. He was too fragile to do it right away. I will be picking him up from the vet on Wednesday and nursing him back to health, then rehoming him (not on here) if no owner is found, or if it appears he was abandoned. He is very friendly and easy to handle. He didnt complain at all when I removed the collar, even though the clasp was in the worst of the wounds. You will need to provide photos and a description of the collar (which I removed when I found him and still have). We have a lot of abandoned cats around here. This is the 3rd cat this year that doesnt belong to me that I have vetted in the hundreds of dollars each for injuries or medical conditions, all paid out of my own pocket, in addition to the 3 cups of dry food I go through every night feeding stray and/or abandoned cats - food intake has to double in the winter. This is why I am not a fan of posting pets in this group, especially free to good home. I dont mean to sound self-righteous, but I am really tired of, and financially drained from, taking care of animals that obviously had a home at some point and were abandoned or dumped. It breaks my heart, and makes me angry at the same time. If you are going to rehome a pet, please please please charge a rehoming fee and get a vet reference. If the person doesnt currently have pets, and therefore no vet, please get either a prepaid receipt from a vet for a spay or neuter, or hold a deposit that will be returned upon proof of spay or neuter. James Pennington, if you dont like this post take it down, but you know how weary of this I am.
