Found one of the few Masjids in Mexico outside of Mexico City for Juma today. Theres only like 3000ish Muslims in Mexico in total. The small community masjid I visited consisted of about 30% ethnic South Asians, 30% Mexicans, and 20% each of ethnic Africans and Arabs. Around 100 people there in total. Very nice people. Khutba(sermon) was in Arabic and Spanish. It was all different and same at the same time. Talking to nonethnic Mexicans is pretty interesting, finding out the different reasons that would bring them all to Mexico. For a lot of them that were there, they were only planning on staying there temporarily before trying to immigrate elsewhere but liked it there and stayed. One Egyptian man I befriended came because he married a Mexican woman, after they met while she was traveling through Egypt. He sells Egyptian products in Mexico now. They served food and juice to everyone afterwards. We all ate, socialized and departed. The end
