Found out today that the head of the Abbott governments commission of audit was, up until the last election, the chairman of the board for Transfield and continues to be a significant shareholder. Whats interesting about this is that Transfield have the contract for building and maintaining the detention centres on Manus Island and Nauru at a cost of over $1.2 billion to the taxpayer. He is also he chairman of the Australian Subscription Television and Radio Association which represents Foxtel. Could it just be a coincidence that the audit recommends continuation of offshore processing and cutting funding to the ABC and SBS, or a massive conflict of interest that strips the audit of any credibility? #notinmyname #saveourabc #auspol
