Found this on BassFan. It explains the change I made at the Delaware River, to go from 60th to 9th. Sunline Strong Performer: Delaware River Monday, August 11, 2014 Shaw Grigsby had a simple explanation for why he went from 60th place after day 1 of the Delaware River Bassmaster Elite Series to 9th after day 2: He started catching all the fish that bit. To facilitate that, he made a basic adjustment to his Texas-rigged Strike King Rage Bug. I unpegged my weight and that made a huge difference, he said. On day 1 they were dropping it a lot, or Id set the hook and the bait would be gone. Unpegging it allowed that weight to break away from it. I believe it got me more strikes, but it really helped me catch them. His day-2 weight (14-15) was well over 10 pounds more than hed brought in the previous day (4-02), when hed landed only three keepers. He concluded the event with a couple of 9-pound stringers and ended up 5th in the final standings. I was fishing way up in a creek and if Id had it to myself I might have been able to win it. It turned out there was like five other boats up there. It was just one of those things – you do what you can and catch what you can and be happy. The Sunline Strong Performer, which focuses on the angler who makes the most significant single-day move in the standings at each tour-level event, is brought to you by the great people at Sunline.
