Found this on one of those Secret History sites The transatlantic and Transpacific voyages indicated would have been both largely at the same time, about 1500-750 BC and following after older voyages of exploration. The Pacific Islanders had an expansion starting out around 4000 BC and by the time of the European discovery they had reached from Eastern Africa to the Andes of South America. Interestingly we now have good evidence that linguistically and Biologically some of the Polynesians came from South America and they were necessarily IN South America before they were in either Polynesia or South Asia.
