Found this online, but havent tried it. You make your own ketchup first to use in the BBQ sauce recipe. Ketchup recipe is first: There’s no need to give up ketchup if you can opt for this sugar-free (but no less delicious) 3-minute variety. 6 ounces tomato paste 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar 1/3 cup water 2 tbsp of your preferred sugar substitute (like coconut crystals, xylitol or stevia) 2 tbsp onions 2 cloves garlic 1 tsp salt 1/8 tsp ground allspice 1/8 tsp ground cloves 1/8 tsp pepper Combine ingredients in food processor and blend until the onion disappears. Spoon mixture into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. Organic BBQ Sauce Recipe Ingredients: ▪ About 1/4 c. of your choice (palm sugar, raw honey, molasses or maple syrup) (Note, if using a liquid sweetener, your sauce may not be as thick, but will taste just as great.) ▪ Juice from 2 organic lemons OR 2 T. raw apple cider vinegar (or use a little of both). ▪ 1 24 oz. bottle of homemade ketchup ▪ 2 T. mustard ▪ 1/2 t. onion powder ▪ 3 T. tamari ▪ Sea salt ▪ 1/2 t. paprika ▪ Update: I recently bought some liquid smoke (with an ingredient label that looked pretty OK!), and used 1/8 tsp. – start out small like that and you can always add more if you like the taste. I thought it was good. Instructions: Mix together in a sauce pan and simmer for 5-10 minutes. This makes a lot of sauce, you may want to halve the recipe. Mix it up well, do lots of taste testing and play around with it until you like it. The recipe isn’t exact, play with it and see how you like it. We all really like it! Patricia Murray Holcombe.
