Found this recipe thanks to shower of roses ...lovely idea for Christmas. So simple and could be done with croissant dough or or pre rolled puff pastry. Cherry candy cane 1 1/2 tins refrigerated croissant dough 100g cream cheese 60g icing sugar 1 egg 1/4 tsp. vanilla or almond extract 1 can cherry pie filling Glaze 1/4 cup icing sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons milk Roll out 1 1/4 cans of the dough for the base on to a flat stone and shape into a cane shape and using the bakers roller join together any of the seams. Combined the cream cheese, egg, vanilla, and icing sugar then spread over the dough, then top with the pie filling. Using another 1/4 of the dough slice into strips and lay over to make look like a candy cane pressing down to join on the edges. Bake for approx 25mins 180*C gas mark 4 until dough looks cooked and golden. For the glaze mix together the milk and icing sugar and drizzle over then serve.
