Founded in 2001, the Alton Educational Foundation (AEF)’s mission has always been to enhance educational opportunities, support academic excellence and encourage student achievement in the Alton School District. The AEF achieves its mission primarily by providing grants to teachers for novel teaching methodologies. Since its inception, the AEF has provided over $100,000 in teacher grants and student scholarships. Today, even greater need exists as Illinois continues to be plagued with fiscal woes which delay timely payments to schools, while simultaneously requiring new national programs to improve overall learning. Funding for the implementation of new federal standards creates a need, and an opportunity for the community to help. In response to these current and future educational needs, the AEF is pleased to announce the launch of its Guardians of Education campaign. The Guardians of Education campaign offers members of the community an opportunity to aid the educational opportunities of Alton students. Membership levels begin at just $5 per year! Please support the AEF’s effort to support our teachers by becoming a Guardian of Education! Invest in Alton by supporting the education of its future leaders and community!
