Story #4 Elaine Martin From the age of 14 life was great, I would go shopping, hang out with friends, have boyfriends and listen to music. That soon turned at a worse for me when I started gaining weight. I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. I would tell myself no one would want to be my friend if Im too fat. So I started to loose the weight to better myself. When I turned 18 something happened that would change my life forever, an opportunity of a lifetime. My biological father had came into my life unexpectedly. I never new about him and didnt think he existed. We met for the first time and I felt so complete. The time came that I made a decision to move from a the small country of England to a huge new world of the USA. We became close and good friends. I even became a model!! As time went on the time between us tore us apart, we wouldnt hang out, we didnt talk much and I became depressed. Then one day I met the man of my dreams, my husband I call today. We left New Mexico and came to his hometown in Kansas. 1 year later we became pregnant, I was so excited as we were expecting a baby girl. Throughout the months I lost 10 lbs. I was surprised I lost that much but was pleased that I actually lost some. After my daughter was born I slowly got the weight back and now Im at my biggest today. I dont want to feel like this anymore so my goal is to get fit, be an active parent and be a better role model for my daughter. She only has one mom so I want to be the best!!
