Four days before President Obama’s inauguration, before he officially took charge of the American government, Rush Limbaugh boasted publicly that he hoped the president would fail. Of course, when the president fails the country flounders. Wishing harm upon your country in order to further your own narrow political views is selfish, sinister and a tad treasonous as well. Nailed it. Its not to say that Bush didnt deal with his share of unnecessary attacks, but Republicans made a concerted effort to fight this administration on every single thing in the hopes that Obamas presidency would, for a lack of better words, fail. This is the political climate our country resigns itself to from here on out. Its disgusting and its shameful. It makes me ashamed to be an American. It is gross to refer to our president as Obozo, Obummer, and any other elementary pet name that one can come up with. He is our president. I didnt like Bush, but I never said he wasnt my Commander-in-Chief. And its shameful for those who did. I hope one day the partisan divide in this country narrows, but as long as we have a deceitful and broken system that is more concerned with scoring points than doing work, this is what we will have to deal with until this country finally implodes. And, yes, this is a two party issue, but you are outright lying to yourself if you truly believe in your heart of hearts that one side isnt worse than the other.
