Four men have been charged following a fight at a hotel at Surry Hills yesterday. Police have been told it was about 10.45pm (Saturday 29 November 2014), when five men became involved in an argument near the bar of the hotel on Bourke Street. A fight ensued, during which a 22-year-old man was allegedly punched then struck in the head with a glass. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he was treated for a 15cm-long cut to his head. The man is believed to be from Castle Hill. Four men were arrested at the scene and taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where: - A 21-year-old man from Queens Park was charged with affray and recklessly cause grievous bodily harm; - A 19-year-old man from Bondi Junction was charged with affray and common assault; - A 20-year-old man from Bondi was charged with affray, resist arrest and assault police; and - A 21-year-old man from Bondi Beach was charged with affray. The men were all refused bail to appear in Central Local Court tomorrow (Monday 1 December 2014).
