Four things in Nashville, Tennessee, that did not disappoint last weekend: 4) The Trailer Park Resort on Broadway for a tasty burger and a place to hang out with friends, old and new, and get out of the rain. 3) The Frothy Monkey for brisket and eggs with a savory bread pudding/dressing and delicious fruit tea for a late supper after a nice stroll with Allison down Church Street, Printers Alley, and Broadway on Saturday night after the rain had stopped. 2) The Lucky Bamboo on Charlotte Pike for Sunday morning dim sum full of so many mouthwatering dumplings and other small plates (with a big platter of sauteed snow pea tips so wed feel a little less guilty about the rest of our indulgence) that we rolled out of Nashville entirely sated. 1) And, of course, at #1, the amazing celebration of literature, writers, publishers, and readers that is the Southern Festival of Books and all the wonderful participants, planners, and volunteers that turned their time and talents to making this event such a success that even the rain couldnt dampen the enthusiasm!
