Four weeks ago my partner Carol and I left our hotel in Marmari on the island of Evia after a wonderful 2 week holiday. But we left with heavy hearts. We had befriended a very young dog, maybe 6 months old, who was living on the street outside of the hotel. She was a joyful, sweet natured pup and we were fearful of what her life would become with winter setting in, few visitors to look out for her and the certainty that by this time next year she would be producing pups of her own. Back in the UK, we contacted a charity, Friends of the Strays of Greece, hoping to at least arrange for the dog to be spayed. However, things stepped up a gear or two and we are now expectantly and excitedly waiting to receive our little Greek girl, Thea, into her new Welsh home in early November. Thank you to all who are making this possible.
