Four4Adoption Service - Finalists in national award As part of the Four4Adoption group of local authorities,Trafford Council’s adoption service, has been named one of three finalists in the prestigious British Association of Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) National Adoption Week Awards. The shortlisting comes in the ‘Best Local Authority’ category. It acknowledges how, working with Stockport, Cheshire East and Tameside under the Four4Adoption umbrella, Trafford has demonstrated excellent collaborative work and outstanding service. It is this which continues to benefit both children waiting to be adopted and prospective adopters. This joined up way of working has enabled each partner to increase the opportunities to match looked-after children with prospective adoptive parents and families. Executive Councillor Linda Blackburn said: “This recognition by BAAF is fantastic and reinforces the effectiveness of the Four4Adoption campaign work. The Council recognises the importance of ensuring it provides the best possible adoptive parents and families for local children. We are proud of all our efforts to ensure children are able to thrive within a stable, loving, caring family home. “I would like to congratulate our adoption team and look forward to seeing if this partnership goes a step further and takes this year’s title.” The category winners will be announced at the BAAF National Adoption Week awards ceremony on 5 November 2013.
