Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Frances G. “Judy” Sweers, age 90, who went home to our Lord on November 30. She was born in Glade Hill, VA, the eldest of seven children. She attended high school in Roanoke and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1945. In 1946 she married Jack Sweers. She was employed by several hospitals as head dietician and later as a substitute teacher in high schools. Her favorite activities were tennis, golf and bridge. She served on numerous committees while at the Landings and contributed many hours to the Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved husband Jack of 68 years and four children, son Jay and wife Judy of Madison, WI; son Jeff and wife Sandra of Santa Fe, NM; son Jim of Fayetteville, NC; daughter Julie and husband Tim of Virginia Beach, VA; 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Agi Sutton of the Landings. A memorial service will be held on December 13 at 11 am at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. Remembrances may be made to Skidaway Island United Methodist Church or to the Marshes Endowment Fund.
