Fox & Weeks is privileged to serve the family and loved ones of Thomas Edward Butler, Sr., 82, who died on December 28, 2014 at his residence. He was born July 3, 1932 in Savannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Elton Butler, Sr., and Ethel Morrissey Butler, his wife, Beverly Ann Lysaught Butler, his sister, Jane Abernathy, and his brother, Charles E. “Buddy” Butler, Jr. Mr. Butler was a communicant of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Hibernian Society, a founding member of the Irish Heritage Society, and a member of the Bacon Park Golf Club where he participated in the Sunshine Blitz. He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Ethel and Rodney Tuttle, Della and Steve Latimer, Cindy and Jerry Bunger, Beverly and Warren Clemens, Tommy and Lisa Butler, Timmy and Terry Butler, and Terri and Richard Davis. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Sharon Butler, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Although the family will greatly miss him, they are at peace knowing Papa is reunited with Mamie “The prettiest girl on the block”. Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Tuesday with a Rosary Service at 6 pm at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be a Noon on Wednesday at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Seeds of Change Building Fund of Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.
