Foyle Paddlers junior paddle today, to call it a junior paddle just doesnt do it justice. 15 paddlers on a medium-high river Roe had an absolute ball. With warm air temperatures, sunshine and smiles all round from the juniors, especially those in playboats, it really was a great day out. So many highlights: Be it Ben (Paul), one of the clubs youngest members, stepping onto a full size river, Dion Stewart demonstrating that self-rescue is possible and fun, or Manus progressing into the joys of playboating. More experienced juniors completed the challenging Dog Leap as well as excelling in skills such as Rohan Chada actively leading rescues and scouting ahead, or Aidan McElhinney inspiring everyone with some slick playboating tricks. Very easy to forget that these friendly teammates are children!! No question at all, Foyle Paddler juniors rule! :-)
