Fr Bwalya Loses Key Member The Alliance for a Better Zambia has suffered its first major setback since forming an alliance with three other opposition political parties with its secretary general Erick Chanda ditching the party. Chanda, who left the Patriotic Front with ABZ President Father Frank Bwalya, said he had left the party because he could not be associated with the MMD government that had been responsible for many problems the country was facing. He said he will announce his next political move soon. Chanda said he was not sure that Zambians would tolerate the MMD so soon after hounding them out of power. He said that political alliances could be formed by parties that had failed to tick in their individual folds. “As I am talking the alliances have only brought the leaders together and I doubt if the membership has been consulted,” he said. “If individual political parties have failed I wonder what they hope to achieve as an alliance.” ABZ, Zambians for Empowerment and Development, People’s Party and MMD on Friday announced the formation of an alliance. zambiareports/2014/01/27/fr-bwalya-loses-key-member/
