Fr Chilinda tells Off Sata at St Ignatius St Ignatius Parish priest Father Charles Chilinda this afternoon faced up to President Michael Sata following the violence perpetuated by the Patriotic Front militia in the country. Chilinda not known to mince his words during his powerful homilies drove his point home during a Good Friday mass at St Ignatius Parish that attracted the attendance of President Sata and the two former Heads of State Kenneth Kaunda and Rupiah Banda. The Catholic priest said the Easter period was a period for reconciliation in the country. “There is a lot of violence in the cadres, political cadres beating up people. There is too much violence and mistrust which is part of the wounds of Christ on that cross,” Fr Chilinda said. He reminded politicians that they may be enjoying power today but they will be ordinary citizens needing the protection of society. “Today you are a politician, tomorrow you will be an ordinary citizen,” he said. The PF cadres have stolen the show for their militia wing’s violence and have in the last seven days attacked opposition leaders who have been addressing the populace through different mediums. UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema was forced out of Sun FM on Saturday while ABZ leader Father Frank Bwalya was beaten in Kawama Compound in Ndola with Edith Nawakwi enduring harassment at the party offices in Ndola. Other prominent leaders present were MMD leader Nevers Mumba, People’s Party President Mike Mulongoti and Edith Nawakwi. zambiareports/2014/04/18/fr-chilinda-tells-sata-st-ignatius/
