Fr. Ron’s Corner…. My thanks to everyone who stopped over to the parish offices for our open house last weekend. The staff and I try to create a warm and welcoming environment for all of our parish family, and you should know you are always welcome to stop in and see us. Whether you are registering as a new parishioner, making an appointment with me or with another staff member, coming in to make arrangements for a funeral or wedding, we want you to feel welcome and to know we are always happy to see you and delighted to be of service. This is your parish, and we want to make a good impression on our family members and our guests who stop to say hello. So many of you have been very generous in helping us to achieve the goals we have set in recent years. Because of you, we have been able to build our new church – nearly 15 years old already! – renovate the original church into a parish hall with a great kitchen, purchase a first floor condominium for your pastor, and add many classrooms and make many improvements to our wonderful school. And as you may remember, along with retiring the debt, our parish goals for the Rooted in Faith/Forward in Hope campaign included building a new parish gym and family center – for which we need additional help, but hope to celebrate groundbreaking on the feast of St. Joseph, our patron – adding parking, and building new parish offices that would be accessible and welcoming. However, it was financially more responsible to make modest improvements to the offices we already have and to turn our attention to many needed repairs on our campus. In our offices, we have worked hard to create spaces that will welcome you for many years. Please feel free to visit! Our Catholic Charities campaign for 2015 is in full swing, and Mary Ellen and I attended a preparation meeting this week. Our parish goal for 2014 is $90K, and we are still $30K behind our goal. If you haven’t yet made your contribution to Catholic Charities for this year, please do so – you’ll be helping our parish to reach our goal, and you’ll be helping countless people in need throughout our Diocese. Feel free to contact Mary Ellen in our office with any questions, and thank you so much for all that you do for our brothers and sisters in Christ, here and around the world. We have a beautiful parish community, and I love being your pastor. Thank you for being the wonderful people you are! Fr. Ron
