Greater Wellington has done a massive study of the groundwater and rivers in Wairarapa and we believe that a carefully conceived and executed water scheme could help restore the balance of our degraded systems. Yes they found the Mangatarere was the most degraded river in Wairarapa How exactly is WWUP going to restore the balance of our degraded systems. They wont say. How about a dam on the Mangatarere, and divert its water for irrigation. It doesnt matter that homes will be flooded.
